About

ABOUT SAS YOU ASSIST

SAS YOU ASSIST works in project form. The projects are of various types, such as construction of preschools, schools, orphanages or contributions to furnishings, books or teaching materials. We also pay the salaries of teachers and a nurse.

In many cases it begins with a donor recommending a project. The board studies the situation and conducts a thorough assessment of the project, together with the person who arranged contact. We often visit the project site before sponsorship begins. We are careful about follow-up and reporting.

SAS YOU ASSIST focuses on children and especially girls, so that they can become self-sufficient. The most important thing is that the children can go to school and learn to read and write, and then go on to higher studies or vocational training.

Everyone who works for SAS YOU ASSIST does so on a completely voluntary basis. Contributions from our donors must go entirely to our projects. A certain amount of administration is unavoidable, but it must be kept to a minimum and is currently around 5%.

SAS YOU ASSIST works with individuals and organizations that are politically and religiously independent. We always have a contact person for each project – someone we have a personal relationship with and can trust.

All projects are visited by a board member every year or two so that we can personally form an opinion that the aid work is effective.
