SAS YOU ASSIST has sponsored the Susith Sarana Foundation for over 20 years. We came into contact with the founder when he was the head of the sponsored child program at the office of the president. After he left there, he opened the current business. A board of directors manages the business. Samansiri Nanayakkara, the son of the founder, has run the business in the spirit of his father for many years. As of 2016, he is retiring and handing over control to a new board to continue the work.

Susith Sarana has many different focuses in his business, but SAS YOU ASSIST is the main sponsor of the Educational Assistance Program, which serves 375 children from the poorest families in the vicinity. The majority of the contribution pays for school materials. The children live at home and receive education at school during the day.

We also support the Foster Parents Program, where SAS YOU ASSIST finances a number of children whose parents have very little resources and the program runs for 5 years. The children receive primary school education, and some also receive cash assistance for living expenses.

Service at Center Plan is part of Susith Sarana's operations. It was started in 2005 and currently has 60 children in a preschool with trained teachers in Montessori pedagogy. Parents pay a fee which covers part of the cost. The rest is covered by sponsors and some comes from SAS YOU ASSIST.

SAS YOU ASSIST is the main sponsor of the school, together with some families in the Netherlands. We have also sent extra contributions for food and maintenance to this project.
